POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the supervision of the Associate Membership Director the Membership Associate delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes membership and programs, maintains cleanliness and organization of the membership desk area in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures

Tier 1 Entry level Major tasks
- Provide excellent customer service to members, guests program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members;
- Build relationships with members; help members connect with one another and the YMCA.
- Resolve membership concerns and inform the supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Balance the membership till and maintain records with a high level of accuracy.
- Attendance and punctuality are required.
- Able to handle high stress situations.
- Conflict resolution management.
Tier 2 Major tasks
- Able to pass tier one checklist within two weeks of hire date.
- Assist all new members with membership applications and sign up.
- Responsible for all program registration through computer software programs
- Assist in background checks for all members through policy
- Filing, checks and balances for daily paperwork.
- Communicates on a steady basis with directors and members.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and accuracy in all member/staff interactions.
Required Trainings (within 90 days)
- Child Sex Abuse prevention training
- CPR/First Aid/Blood Borne Pathogens
- YMCA New Staff Orientation
- YMCA Leader Certification

Pay: $14.30 - $16.00 per hour

Schedule:
- Saturday Mornings 7:45am-12pm or 12pm-5pm
- Weekdays 3-8pm 1-3 days a week or as needed/on-call
