The YMCA of DeKalb County Early Learning Program is hiring for various positions within our vastly growing facility. We have multiple full-time and part-time positions available for Infant, Toddler, Preschool and Summer School Age Teachers. - Preschool teacher (Full time; Approximately 8:30 AM-5:30PM)(Pay Range $14 to $22)
- Toddler Teacher (Ones or twos classroom; Approximately Full time; 8:30PM-5:30PM)(Pay Range $14 to $22)
- Toddler Teacher (Ones or twos classroom; Part time, 3:00 PM- 6:00PM)(Pay Range $14 to $22)
- Infant teacher (Part time 12:30PM-6:00PM) (Pay Range $14 to $22)
- Early Learning Part Time Support Staff (Part Time; 8:30AM -11:30AM) (Pay Range $14 to $22)
-School Age (Summer Only; Full and Part Time Available) (Pay Range $14 to $17)
-Child Watch (Part Time; 4PM-8PM) (Pay Range $13 to$15)
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a warm, safe and engaging environment that supports each child’s growth and development.
- Plan, facilitate and participate in age-appropriate activities that reflect children’s individual interests and learning needs.
- Promote positive behavior and effectively manage the classroom to ensure a supportive experience for all children.
- Communicate regularly with parents.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
- Previous experience in an early childhood education or childcare setting is recommended.
- A CDA or higher is recommended.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with children, families, and team members.
- Ability to apply positive positive behavior guidance strategies that promote engagement and a supportive learning atmosphere.
- Understanding of state licensing standards, regulations, and policies related to childcare.
