Title of Position: eSports Coach
POSITION SUMMARY
Coordinates, supports, and assists with various aspects of youth and adult Esports programs.

Essential Functions
- Represents the YMCA and maintains appropriate relationships with members, parents and youth.
- Recruiting and retaining participants for the Esports program.
- Conducting coaching and instruction activities during training, practice and competition.
- Ensuring team compliance with all league rules and regulations.
- Keeps score for games.
- Assists in evaluation of the Esports programs.
- Assists in the monitoring of inventory of department’s equipment and ensures effective, safe use.
- Represents the YMCA and maintains appropriate dress code.
- Serves as a positive role model to all participants.
- Perform all safety and emergency procedures as needed.
Additional Functions:
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor locations.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends is required.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation
REQUIREMENTS
- ·Must pass YMCA background check
- CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to acquire certifications within 30 days of employment
- Knowledge of rules and experience teaching basic Esports skills.
- At least one year competitive eSports experience involving multiplayer online video games with team-based elements and expert knowledge of Rocket League, NBA 2K, Smash Brothers, or similar games.
- Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: CPR; First Aid; AED
- Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in office or virtually. On site work will be required. Work may be performed outside of “normal work hours” dependent on current programs being offered, including nights and weekend.
