Under direction of the Director of Healthy Living, the Wellness Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Wellness Department, including member engagement, staff supervision, wellness floor operations, program administration, and facility oversight. This position assists in creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment that promotes healthy living and exceptional member experiences. The Wellness Coordinator provides operational support to wellness floor staff, personal trainers, and group exercise instructors while assisting with program implementation and member service.
Essential Functions
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday (shifts may vary, depending on needs of facility) 9am-5pm or 11am-7pm
Pay: $20.20/hr. Plus generous PTO, access to YMCA facilities for all YMCA employees, Medical, Dental, Disability, Life, Vision, & Pet Insurance, and ability to participate 403b Retirement Savings Plan. Also, once fully vested, the YMCA will pay into a retirement account (403a) for you with an employer match!

The Wellness Coordinator provides operational support to wellness floor staff, personal trainers, and group exercise instructors while assisting with program implementation and member service.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the daily operation and supervision of the Wellness Center and group exercise spaces.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, training and scheduling of wellness staff as directed.
- Provided day-to-day leadership and support to wellness floor and group exercise staff.
- Ensure wellness floor and group exercise coverage and respond promptly to member questions and concerns.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout wellness areas.
- Conduct member orientations and wellness consultations as assigned.
- Assist with implementation and promotion of wellness programs, special events, and healthy living initiatives.
- Monitor equipment conditions and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of department supplies.
- Maintain accurate program records, participation data, and incident reports as required.
- Support communication efforts including social media content, newsletters, bulletin boards and program promotions.
- Assist with Active Older Adult programming and member engagement initiatives.
- Teach wellness classes and provide wellness floor coverage as assigned.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities.
- Support YMCA Annual Campaign and branch events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Healthy Living.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong initiative and sound decision-making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Current CPR certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Current Group Exercise and Personal Training certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Must have proven supervisory skills.
