What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Camp Lead at the Boroughs Family Branch YMCA(Summer Seasonal) position at YMCA of Central Massachusetts?
Do you possess a desire/love to work with youth between the ages of 3-13 and like to lesson plan? Do you have the ability to work independently and can adapt to difficult situations, all while using positive behavior management techniques? Under the supervision of the Day Camp Director, the Camp Lead is responsible for helping to plan and implement the camp program, identifying and meeting camper needs, leading camp counselors, while maintaining YMCA day camp standards and DPH standards.
Summer Camp runs June 20th- August 25th. Monday - Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm. You may sometimes come in later than 7:30am or leave earlier than 5:30pm.
Pre-Camp Mandatory training days on June 10th, 11th, 17th, and 18th
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Current CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications
· Desire and Ability to work with children indoors and outdoors
· Ability to assist in teaching an activity
· Ability to relate to one’s peer group
· Good character, integrity, and adaptability
· Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
· High School graduate or equivalent and at least 18 years of age
· Be able to commit to a minimum of 8 Full Weeks, Monday-Friday, 7:30-5:30pm of Camp as needed. Time off must be approved prior to hiring
· Be able to complete Pre Camp Prep before camp starts (see below for more specifics)
· Meets requirements to be a seasonal staff member
JOB TYPE: Temporary—SUMMER SEASONAL
