What are the responsibilities and job description for the Before/After School Driver - Split Shift position at YMCA Learning Center?
The Idaho Falls Family YMCA Learning Center needs safe and dependable drivers to help Learning Center children get to our facility from school. Drivers may also assist in the after school programming offered at the Y.
Bus Driver Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive safely along designated routes.
- Obey traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit regulations.
- Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations.
- Follow a specific timetable while on duty.
- Prevent or stop unruly behavior from passengers.
- Check the bus tires, lights, oil, etc. when needed for basic maintenance.
Education, Training, & Certification
- Applicant must be at least 21 years old
- High school diploma
- Have a current Driver's License
- Applicant must pass a background check
- Pediatric CPR and First Aid courses (can also receive when hired)
- Provide proof of an excellent driving record and minimum safe driving experience as determined by the employer
- Knowledge of bus passenger safety and effective discipline procedure
- Works well and effectively communicates with students, staff, and parents
- Maintains confidentiality of staff and students
Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 – 35.0 per week
