The primary purposes of the Event Specialist are to enrich all operations, processes and procurement for GENERATE events, both Camp and Conference Resources as well as year-round event related eCommerce transactions on ym360.com. This is accomplished through managing a dynamic line of event merchandise connected to our live event experiences and by giving leadership over online promo packs and event merchandise sales.

It is expected that this position is ministry-minded, a self-starter, good steward of resources, organized with good management tools, has good communication skills with the ability to manage oral and print communication, possess the ability to train assigned staff, is flexible with both a creative and critical mind, and is willing to expand the Kingdom impact of YM360 and grow the ministry resource revenue of GENERATE. This position will be a major contributor to the success of the YM360 brand and living up to our Core Values each and every day will be essential.

Essential Job Functions

The following components are the roadmap to success and the responsibilities of the Event Specialist:

• Be a Minister.
• Mange design process and procurement of all retail products related to GENERATE events. This includes the development of event merchandise (resources) through a process of sampling, design, and ordering.
• Seek to constantly implement and improve or current resource process.
• Manage merchandise at a camp, conference, or office ensuring we have sellable product while avoiding ending up with excess.
• Interview, train and champion summer Resources Coordinators by implementing and supporting their processes, reporting, and other tools to run successful event resource tables all summer. Also, be their lead during their training week and on location.
• Lead in all Shopify processes for GENERATE Resources. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• All product build-out
• Year-long inventory management within Shopify systems for all sellable resources, event student books, and theme shirts
• Front-line management for all POS systems
• Managing all Shopify reporting – projections for ordering, reloads, and post-summer sales
• Perform seasonal inventory counts for GENERATE merchandise while maintaining a neat warehouse presence.
• Manage and maintain relationships and workflow with vendors associated with resources (Fund the Nations)
• Improving systems of receiving inventory and packing for an event (ordering by team, etc.)
• Manage GENERATE Store Website development and maintenance.
• Own the process of personality resources and payouts.
• Own the entire process of the display of resources at an event. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Complete ideation and creation of the table Set Up
• Own the process of a photo shoot for all resources
• Own the process of procuring display items like banners, price tags, signage around campus, and any other display needs
• Own the entire process of GENERATE Camp Promo Packs. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Creation, selection, and procurement of all Promo Pack contents and shipping supplies
• Inventory management of all Promo Pack elements
• Marketing of Promo Packs – communicating marketing plans and ideas for the Events Team to share with registered churches
• Responsible for all incoming inventory deliveries of event related merchandise: receiving, checking in, and completing internal process.
• Manage weekly resource sales goals and weekly scorecard. Give oversight on areas of improvement in real time.
• Mange staff apparel.
• Manage youth pastor retention gifts and staff returnee gifts.
• Manage Youth Camp Resources and related inventory.
• Lead the picking and packing functions for all trade shows, conferences, and other events.
• Host monthly resource meetings. The meetings will give updates on current resource projects, plan resource processes, and brainstorm resource options.
• Confirm weekly resource bank deposits.
• Create and document best practices as we continue to grow in the above areas.
  

Qualifications Requirements

Qualifications Include

• Must support the Christian mission of YM360 with a desire to serve the Church through a youth ministry organization
• 2-4 years in customer care, church relations, retail or operational experience. College degree preferred.
• Strong organizational and management skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to work well on a tight-knit team but function well individually. Must be able to lift and move heavy boxes (50 lbs.).
• Ability to multi-task with a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced working environment
• Computer experience is a must. Salesforce, Shopify, and/or Basecamp experience a plus.
  
  

Requirements & Benefits Include

• Monday through Friday from our office in Hoover, Alabama. Some travel will be required
• Spring involved on the Conference staff leading resources
• Summer training on location for training week and periodical camp location check-ins
• 40 hours per week (though seasonal deadlines may require additional hours)
