Role Description:
This position is for a part-time, on-site AP Psychology Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities:
- Teach 1–2 late-afternoon sections of AP Psychology to high school juniors and seniors (Mon–Thurs)
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with course objectives and AP curriculum standards
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes inquiry, respect, and academic excellence
- Encourage critical thinking and discussion around psychological concepts and their real-world applications
- Prepare students for the AP Psychology exam in May
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of performance
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Counseling, or a related field
- Experience in education, counseling, mentoring, or other roles working with adolescents or young adults is preferred
- Strong background in Psychology with a solid understanding of key concepts and real-world applications
- Prior experience teaching AP Psychology or high school students is preferred, though candidates with relevant professional or academic experience and interest in teaching are encouraged to apply
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and engage high school students in meaningful learning
- Commitment to fostering intellectual curiosity, academic excellence, and positive student development
- Experience developing and implementing curriculum, or potential to contribute to curriculum development, is preferred
Compensation (commensurate with experience):
- 1 section (4 teaching periods): $13,000-$16,000
- 2 sections (8 teaching periods): $25,000-$35,000
