Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients to support chefs and cooks
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety standards
- Support cooking activities by organizing ingredients and ensuring timely meal assembly
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines
- Help with meal service by setting up serving stations and assisting in plating dishes when needed
- Support catering events or special functions with food setup, replenishment, and clean-up
- Follow all safety protocols related to kitchen operations, including knife skills and proper storage of perishable items
Experience
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is valued!
- Exposure to menu planning, food preparation, or restaurant environments will be advantageous
- Familiarity with food handling, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety practices is beneficial
- Experience in the food industry or culinary settings demonstrates your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
