As a Medical Records Clerk, your responsibilities will include:
- Medical Chart Management:
- Retrieve medical charts for healthcare staff and clinicians as requested.
- File all in-use medical records daily and ensure the security of both active and inactive medical records.
- Documentation Oversight:
- Ensure charts are counter-signed by physicians and reviewed for completeness.
- Release medical information under the direction of the Medical Records Supervisor, Medical Director, or Health Services Administrator.
- Administrative Support:
- Answer telephones, take messages, and make necessary calls.
- Type letters, reports, and memorandums.
- Maintain a roster or appointment book for on-site and off-site patient appointments.
- Inventory Management:
- Order, receive, and maintain office supplies as required.
- Additional Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned to support healthcare operations.
- Educational Background:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical records management.
- Familiarity with the Problem-Oriented Medical Record (SOAP) system is essential.
- Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of a background check, security clearance, and drug screening.
