To put it simply, the HRIS function exists to ensure our people systems, data, and processes operate accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with state, federal, and organizational requirements. This role supports informed decision-making, operational excellence, and a seamless employee experience across the full employee lifecycle.
In this role, you will partner closely with Talent, Payroll, Finance, IT, Operations, Academics, and campus leaders to manage HR systems, reporting, compliance, and large-scale system initiatives that support staff and organizational priorities.

THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
HRIS Leadership & Team Management
- Leading and managing the HRIS team (1 Senior HR Systems Specialist and 2 HR Systems Specialists), providing oversight, coaching, prioritization, and professional development.
- Owning ongoing HRIS system maintenance, enhancements, and process improvements to support evolving organizational needs;
- Maintaining and supporting system integrations across platforms, including Tyler Munis, Jobvite, SIS, E-Verify, Cornerstone, and onboarding systems;
- Executing academic year rollover activities, including calendar configuration, imports, validations, and audits;
- Maintaining and overseeing Jobvite system functionality in alignment with hiring and onboarding processes;
- Supporting onboarding workflows and system connections between Jobvite and Munis.
- Owning Munis SQL/SSRS reporting, including complex data pulls and reporting requests for internal stakeholders;
- Supporting with required state and federal reporting, including EEO‑5 and OEWS;
- Supporting PEIMS Reporting, troubleshooting data issues and ensuring alignment across systems;
- Executing monthly employee job and salary audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance;
- Managing the Monthly DNH Registry process for employees and contractors.
- Leading contractor management processes, including system setup, data validation, compliance tracking, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders;
- Leading and executing HRIS-related projects and large-scale initiatives tied to system transitions, reporting cycles, audits, and regulatory changes;
- Developing clear documentation, SOPs, and communication plans to support system changes and adoption.

THE MUST HAVES
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related discipline, or equivalent work experience from an accredited four-year college.
- 2 years’ experience with HR System administration (i.e. HRIS Coordinator, Specialist, Analyst, Administrator, Manager, etc.)
- 3 years of Human Resources experience
- Ability to work in person in Houston at least 2 days per week
- Experience managing complex projects and operationalizing policies and strategy
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of issues and recommend resolutions
- Model agility in the face of changing constraints: You prefer a fast-paced and dynamic environment and are agile and comfortable enough to keep up as plans change and evolve
- Build relationships and leverage them appropriately to help self and team maneuver through tasks, projects, and processes
- Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends during busy seasons
- Belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of YES Prep Public Schools

- Current or previous management experience
- Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option or a $24 monthly option that includes $50 YES Prep Paid Health Savings Account contribution, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20 hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
- Retirement Plans – Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and an optional 457b Retirement Plan.
- Paid Time Off – Employees working 20 hours a week receive 15 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar.
