Title of Position: Coalition Coordinator -Bilingual: Spanish
Description of duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
The HAP Coalition Coordinator is a NYS OASAS Grant funded position who will responsible for the day to day operations of YES Community Counseling Center's Hispanic for Prevention Alliance Coalition (HAP) who serves Nassau County. The HAP coalition is an active and vital coalition who have been working together to create a safe, healthy, and secure community through prevention of substance misuse for Hispanic Youth and Families. We are looking for a full time coordinator to continue to lead these efforts and work in collaboration with 12 community partners dedicated to this mission including youth, parents, businesses, media, schools, youth serving organizations, law enforcement, civic/volunteer organizations, religious/fraternal organizations, healthcare professionals, state/local government, and substance abuse organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Drug Free Communities Project Coordinator includes the following:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Liaison to all sectors and committees to ensure work of coalition is completed and on schedule with Action Plan;
- Coordinate Strategic Prevention Framework, Cultural Competency and Sustainability training; Implement evidence-based strategies to fulfill Action Plan;
- Work with subcommittees, a data coordinator and evaluator to collect program evaluation data, enter data in real time data base management system; work with evaluator to develop coalition's annual report;
- Serve as information resource for coalition and community; facilitate education and organize special events in community; Maintain files of evaluation survey data;
- Coordinate social marketing campaign meetings and materials for youth and parents;
- Develop and implement coalition's capacity building: e-newsletter, press releases, informational brochures and marketing;
- Prepare reports as required by the NYS OASAS Grant requirements
- Attend trainings, state, and local prevention education programs to keep apprised of prevention research, practices and evidence-based approaches.
- Update website, social media accounts; utilize computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and

Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in public health or health education, business administration, community outreach, with experience in community-based prevention.
- Strong knowledge of substance use, prevention and addiction preferred;
Amount of travel: Local travel to attend meetings, programs and prevention trainings. Opportunities for overnight travel available if deemed appropriate to attend CADCA National Leadership Forums.
