Our growing company is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Financial Analyst to support our Acquisitions team. In this role, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for leading the development and analysis of financial models, evaluating due diligence efforts, and designing and implementing post-acquisition performance frameworks.

This individual will independently evaluate acquisition opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations that influence business decisions, present findings to leadership, and track financial performance against deal assumptions.

The position will also lead analysis related to company prospecting, budgeting, Quality of Earnings analysis, and pro forma reporting to ensure alignment between historical results and post-close performance.

This role reports to the Finance Manager overseeing Mergers and Acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development of financial models and evaluate and interpret historical income statements to support company evaluations.
  • Own and develop detailed, multi-year operating budgets based on diligence findings to establish post-close performance targets.
  • Design and refine structured financial models to measure acquired-company performance against transaction terms.
  • Evaluate and draw conclusions from Quality of Earnings analysis to ensure all factors impacting the financial sustainability of the business are properly assessed.
  • Independently assess due diligence findings, identify risks, and recommend areas requiring further analysis or focus.
  • Prepare and present financial analyses and recommendations to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial and operational assessments of prospective acquisition targets and advise on deal viability.
  • Interpret and communicate key acquisition metrics, trends, and variances to inform strategic decisions.
  • Analyze competitor M&A activity and market trends, providing insights that influence corporate strategy.
  • Exercise independent judgment in prioritizing and conducting ad hoc analyses to address business needs.
  • Own the development and validation of pro forma financials, ensuring assumptions are reasonable and aligned with strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, investment banking, or a related field required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and make data-driven recommendations on matters of financial significance.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to present findings and influence decision-making.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex financial scenarios and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing business needs and exercise discretion in ambiguous situations.
  • Professional presence with the ability to influence and support strategic initiatives.
