Responsibilities
- Lead and support crew members in daily pond maintenance activities
- Oversee day-to-day crew operations in the field
- Track and maintain accurate crew hours
- Assist with all aspects of pond maintenance services
- Mow and string trim slopes and pond basins
- Selectively remove invasive plants around ponds
- Operate large brush-cutting equipment and other tools as needed
- Load and unload heavy equipment and plant materials from trucks
- Ensure all company-owned equipment and tools are collected and secured at the end of the day
- Assist other divisions, such as inspection or repair teams, as needed
- Promote and enforce safe work practices
- 1 year of experience in lake or pond maintenance, landscaping, commercial mowing, turf management, or similar field required (leadership experience preferred)
- Ability to operate equipment such as large brush mowers and weed eaters
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk on steep slopes for extended periods
- Ability to bend and stoop frequently throughout the workday
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including muddy or uneven terrain
- Comfortable working around environmental factors such as bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other natural hazards
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to guide a team
- Must follow and enforce all safety practices when handling chemicals and equipment
- Valid driver’s license required
