Yellowstone Club’s Bike Patrol department is hiring for the position of Bike Patroller for the upcoming Summer season! Our Summer employment months are June - September.
The Bike Patrollers encompass daily tasks to reduce hazards and create a safe biking and summer recreation environment for Yellowstone Club.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform general on-mountain safety work including maintaining pads, signage, rope lines, closures, traffic control, and hazard assessment
- Respond to emergencies, including day and night search and rescue.
- Assess biking, hiking, and on mountain injuries, provide immediate first aid and provide transport down the mountain, and complete required paperwork
- Document the injury or accident, note the medical condition of the patient and work with Yellowstone Club Fire Department for the patient to be transported to a local medical facility if necessary
- Complete all required training as directed by the Manager of Ski Patrol
- Promote mountain safety by enforcing area policies, clearing debris from the bike runs, maintaining the resort boundaries, and other specialized techniques (e.g. rescue litter handling, chairlift and Gondola evacuation, rope rescue, search and rescue, vehicle operation)
- Conduct biking and hiking trail checks of the mountain before opening and closing hours to ensure that the mountain is safe for Members and guests; Mark and/or remove hazards appropriately
- Maintain training and certifications throughout employment
- Transport equipment around the mountain
- Assisting other Mountain Operations staff with daily tasks
- High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work required
- Montana EMT Certification
- Ability to bike the toughest terrain at the ski area in a strong, stable manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High integrity and be detail oriented, and have a positive attitude
