Position Summary: Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a Lead Mental Health Workers – Group Home is an individual who has demonstrated the ability to support a trauma-informed environment, facilitate, and supervise day-to-day activities of therapeutic group home programming such as recreational activities, completion of basic living and social skills while assuring the safety of the youth. They serve as a positive role model and mentor to the other Mental Health Workers at YBGR. A Lead Mental Health Worker will possess demonstrated leadership skills, a strong work ethic, reliability, and a desire to assure the successful development of Mental Health Workers and a complete understanding of the Mental Health Worker- Group Home role. They should have a passion for this field and have the ability to be a positive role model and influence staff members and the youth.
Starting Salary Range: $19.21 - $21.62 per hour. Salary reflects steps 1-5 of an 11-step pay schedule. The starting salary will be determined based on the applicant’s education and relevant experience.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
1. Implement treatment programming and provide feedback for each child in the group home.
2. Assist in orienting new staff members by demonstrating systems and procedures .
3. Create/Maintain a positive environment that is safe, and therapeutic by providing support, guidance and encouragement. Provide constant, quality supervision and care to youth at all times while teaching them coping and daily living skills.
4. Complete proper treatment documentation on time and consistent with YBGR policies.
5. Serve as a liaison to families and agencies responsible for youth in the home, always providing
professional customer service. Supervise and monitor family visits and phone calls on assigned shifts.
6. Plan and serve as a support person in the therapeutic treatment procedures in the home and community (recreational, educational, spiritual, social, medical, etc.).
7. Ensure compliance to the goals and direction of the treatment team and YBGR for overall program needs
8. Responsible/accountable to the treatment team and YBGR for overall program needs .
9. Contribute to the strategic goals and outcomes of the agency as measured by the development and achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals and outcomes. Participate in Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) goals of the organization, both individually and as a team
member.
10. Deal constructively and helpfully with all other members of the organization.
11. Fully support and model the mission and values of YBGR.
12. Adhere to all policies, systems, safety requirements, and procedures of the organization.
13. Take the initiative to identify problems and seek out solutions.
14. Be a professional representative of the organization to those outside it.
15. Participate and engage in monthly supervision/coaching meetings with the supervisor.
16. Be aware of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the persons served.
17. Participate in required training as appropriate to the position and beneficial to YBGR.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• 21 years old or older
• Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance: Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
• High School Diploma or GED
• At least six (6) months of professional experience at YBGR in direct care working with youth. 12 months' relevant experience preferred.
• Driver’s License to operate a passenger vehicle.
• Ability to relate and build rapport with youth therapeutically while serving as a positive role model for co-workers.
• Knowledge of and ability to maintain professional therapeutic boundaries and confidentiality with youth and families.
• Possess the ability to work with youth in multiple settings, such as individually and in groups.
• Ability to work in cooperation and collaboration with the treatment team.
• Ability to communicate effectively through both verbal and written communications so that communications are clear, concise, and complete in their composition of thought and lacks obvious errors with grammar and spelling.
• Display regular, predictable, and reliable attendance at work.
• Excellent active listening skills
• The ability to complete forms within an electronic Medical Health Record System.
