Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various age groups. The RT will assess respiratory conditions, administer treatments, manage ventilators, and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and respiratory medications.
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, and CPAP.
• Assist with intubation, airway management, and emergency procedures.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis as required.
• Monitor patients' respiratory status and respond to changes promptly.
• Provide airway clearance and pulmonary hygiene treatments.
• Participate in rapid response and code/emergency situations.
• Educate patients and families regarding respiratory care and equipment.
• Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in the EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Required Qualifications

• Current VA Respiratory Therapist (RT) License
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program..
• BLS certification required.

Preferred Experience

• 1 year of acute-care/hospital Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic or another major EMR system preferred.
