Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Ortho/Surgical (Contract)
Job Type: Contract (8 Weeks) with possible extension
Shift & Schedule: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), 48 hours per week
Location: Pikeville, KY
Pay: $55.00 per hour / $2,640.00 weekly gross (Blended Rate)

Job Summary:
We are hiring an experienced Travel RN for a high-yield, 8-week contract (with the possibility of extension) in Pikeville, KY. This role requires managing a 48-hour weekly schedule (four 12-hour shifts) providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative care to adult and geriatric patients on our busy Ortho/Surgical unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive Surgical Nursing: Deliver expert pre- and post-op care for general, orthopedic, trauma, bariatric, and neurosurgical patients, including physical assessments and care plan updates.
• Advanced Lines & Interventions: Access central lines, manage blood product transfusions, titrate specialized IV drips, and perform complex pain management protocols.
• Specialized Device & Wound Care: Monitor and manage chest tubes, traction systems, feeding tubes (PEG/G/J-tubes), and advanced surgical drains (JP/Hemovac).
• Compliance & Unit Leadership: Adhere strictly to NIHSS and KODA protocols, maintain precise documentation, assist with bedside procedures, and provide shift guidance to auxiliary staff.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required (5 years preferred). Prior travel nursing experience is strictly required.
• Licensure & Certifications: Active RN License. Current CPR, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and EKG certifications are all required.

Pay: $55.00 per hour
