What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessionals position at Yellow Medicine East Schools?
YME is accepting applications for Paraprofessionals at both the elementary and middle/high school. This role involves working closely with students in diverse educational settings.
As a Paraprofessional, you will support both Special Education and General Education teachers in delivering educational and behavioral interventions for Special Education students. Your responsibilities will include assisting students in general education classrooms, with the ultimate goal of promoting school-wide educational objectives. Given the unique and varied needs of each student, flexibility and adaptability in your approach are essential.
RESPONSIBLITIES MAY ICNLUDE:
- Providing personal care assistance.
- Implementing behavior management strategies.
- Delivering one-on-one instruction and support.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma and a minimum of 60 college credits, or successful completion of the Para Assessment Test (study materials and testing fees covered by YME).
- Flexibility to work with diverse situations, including one-on-one, small groups, and larger settings.
- Strong communication skills with teachers, students with disabilities, and their families.
- A steadfast belief in the potential and abilities of every student.
JOB DETAILS:
- Days: 174 days (171 student days and 3 in-service days)
- Pay: $17.04 - $20.78 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)
- Expected Hours: 30-35 hours per week, general working hours are 7:45-3:15 with some variance
- Benefits: Comprehensive package including retirement with PERA, health, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance, as well as paid holidays, personal leave, and sick leave. Potential summer unemployment available.
