We work with brands to build meaningful campaigns and programs around college athletes through the power of NIL. We build campaigns that break through the noise blending storytelling, strategy, and culture.
Our work spans across college sports with clients including CAVA, eBay, and Dutch Bros, among others. Yellow Dot is a fast-growing agency and is positioned as an industry leader in brand led, college athlete/NIL marketing.
Role Overview
The Director of Business Development will lead new business growth at Yellow Dot — building and managing relationships with brand clients to drive revenue and expand our client base. You’ll collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team to identify opportunities, develop strategies, and close deals that align with our mission and creative vision.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial self-starter who thrives in relationship-driven environments and is passionate about the intersection of sports, marketing, and culture.
Responsibilities
- Own the new business pipeline — from prospecting and outreach to pitching and closing deals
- Develop a deep understanding of the NIL, sports, and brand marketing ecosystem
- Build, foster and maintain a strong rolodex of brand decision-makers
- Work closely with leadership to set revenue goals, track performance, and forecast pipeline health
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and delivery for new clients
Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales in the marketing, agency, or sports industry
- Proven ability to generate and close deals
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong understanding of brand marketing, influencer/NIL partnerships, or sports media landscapes
- Highly organized and self-motivated with strong follow-through
- Substantial existing brand partnerships personal network
- Passion for storytelling, creativity, and the evolving NIL industry
Compensation
- Base Salary: $80,000–$90,000 base salary (depending on experience)
- Sales commission
- Performance-based bonuses
