Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Service Provider to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with varying needs, in a group home setting. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our clients through direct support, personal care, and engaging activities.
*This position is for our Ola group home, Saturday & Sunday - 12hr shifts and Monday & Tuesday 8hr shifts for a total of 40 hours/week.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals in daily living activities, including personal hygiene and grooming.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to the specific needs of each client.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and skill development.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
- Monitor and document clients' progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
- Administer first aid as needed and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Transport and supervise clients on community outings (shopping, religious events, recreational activities, etc)
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or in a group home setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with direct support work, including lifting and assisting clients as needed.
- A caring attitude and commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Experience in meal preparation and maintaining cleanliness in a caregiving environment is a plus.
