Description
Yeh and Associates, Inc. is looking for a motivated Construction Project Engineer to join our team on an exciting, high-profile infrastructure project. This role offers the opportunity to work on the construction of a 10-foot-wide, ADA-compliant, multi-use concrete recreation trail that winds along Clear Creek through the scenic Open Spaces of Jefferson and Clear Creek Counties.
This project combines engineering innovation and environmental stewardship, navigating mountainous terrains with limited access. The trail features elevated viaducts, pedestrian bridge crossings, and advanced retaining wall systems, creating a one-of-a-kind engineering challenge in a beautiful natural setting.
As part of the Yeh team, you will contribute to geotechnical design, construction management, inspection, and materials testing for key project elements including bridge foundations, MSE retaining walls, trail and pavement materials, and a major underpass structure beneath US Highway 6.
We’re looking for a licensed Colorado PE with recent CDOT experience who has strong technical expertise and sound engineering judgment to ensure quality, compliance, and project success.
Requirements
- Requires a minimum of 5 to 10 years directly related to roadway, bridge, and other highway transportation project experience
- Must have a valid Colorado PE License
- Bachelor’s degree in CM, Civil, or Structural Engineering
- Must be able to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Must have experience on CDOT or Local Agency transportation projects
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Inspection certifications, and associated CDOT training preferred
- Knowledge of SiteManager, PMWeb, or other Project Management Software is preferred
Responsibilities
- Serves as liaison between Project Manager, field staff and client.
- Provides oversight of construction projects, ensuring adherence to contract and subcontract terms, performance, quality assurance, compliance requirements and engineering specifications.
- Monitor contractor’s schedule, safety procedures and report violations
- Assists with completing inspections, obtaining certifications. Prepares change orders.
- Has knowledge of the pertinent contract documents and references specific to the project
- Understands, interprets and makes sound engineering determinations regarding contract documents
- Exercises sound engineering judgment and follows through on determinations made during oversight of all field operations
- Resolves or facilitates the resolution of all discrepancies or problems with contract documents and issues arising from field operations
- Creates and maintains open and productive communications among subordinates, sub-consultants, management, contractors, clients and the public
- Verifies all contract documentation is generated timely and filed in proper order
- Receives and generates all contract correspondence
- Documenting and informing the Project Representative of relevant observations, including the progress of the work, problems that develop, and work proactively in identifying potential problems/issues and solutions
