Job Objective: The Facilities Attendant is responsible for ensuring minor facility maintenance is accomplished where needed to provide a clean, serviceable, well-lit environment for plant employees.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains plant cleanliness through daily routine tasks and procedures. Tasks include, but not limited to: cleaning, painting, changing light bulbs, minor plumbing repairs, etc.
- Operates and cares for cleaning equipment.
- Follows routine schedule and checklist while updating tracking systems.
- Organized, able to multitask and effectively manage time with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Work independently and as part of a team working cooperatively with each other.
- Learn, organize, and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Required Education and Experience
1. Cleaning and custodian experience.
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Basic mechanical ability.
2. Experience operating in a manufacturing environment.
3. Able and willing to paint as needed.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must frequently lift or move 10-50 pounds. The employee will be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, push, pull, repetitively use both hands, and able to grasp items using hands and fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb ladders.
Hours of employment are 7 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. Starting rate of pay is $20.60 per hour. Employment is full-time through a local staffing agency. Once applicant has completed the required contract hours with the staffing agency and met performance standards, regular employment will begin with Yazoo Mills. Hours worked under the staffing arrangement are credited towards service time and benefits eligibility.
