What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Yazaki Northern Michigan?
Current Openings: Material Handler 1st Shift 7:00AM - 3:22PM Monday - Friday
BASIC FUNCTION
Operates a forklift to transfer raw material, scrap, equipment, and other supplies to meet production needs. Utilize a hand-held scanner to transfer material in and out of the Inventory Control System.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Continuous standing while operating fork truck
- Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting of materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Frequent grasping and pulling of scrap pans weighing up to 1300 lbs; force of up to 100 lbs (shoulder level) needed to tip scrap pans into gaylords
- Rolling spools of metal weighing up to 2,200 lbs into the staging area.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Previous power industrial truck experience preferred
