What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director position at Yavapai Regional Medical Group?
As our Medical Director, you will help physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical leaders deliver exceptional, patient-centered care so they can improve quality outcomes, enhance the patient experience, and support the continued growth of our medical group.
In this role, you will provide strategic physician leadership across the medical group while partnering with executive leadership to advance clinical excellence, quality improvement, patient safety, provider engagement, and operational performance. You will be expected to oversee quality initiatives, guide physician performance and peer review, support regulatory compliance, contribute to strategic planning and budgeting, and collaborate with hospital and medical group leaders to achieve organizational goals.
To be successful in this role, you must have a valid Arizona MD or DO medical license upon hire, current board certification in your specialty, and a proven history of physician leadership within a medical group setting. Strong experience in quality improvement, physician engagement, healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic leadership is essential, along with the ability to build collaborative relationships and lead organizational change.
- Assists in directing the patient care and medical education for appropriate departments
- This is a part time role with clinical responsibilities based on the responsibilities of the speciality of the Physician
- Works with COO or appropriate YRMG leadership stakeholder to comply with all regulatory bodies and state
- Oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with TJC, HIPAA, and other accreditation standards
- Participates in development and implementation of quality initiatives including patient access and satisfaction, provider satisfaction, clinical outcomes and process improvement, and guideline development
- Participates in strategic plan and business plan development including identification of strategic partners, growth and resource allocation
- Provides oversight to address Physician behavior, including performance management duties, including providing crucial conversations
- Provides oversight for Quality/Peer review/population health related matters, performance, addressing matters, issues, and improvements
- Partners with COO as dyad in addressing Clinical, Quality, financial, and strategic matters
- Provides input to the manager of the department in developing operating and capital budgets
- Assists with meeting departmental and divisional budgetary goals
- Participates in and provides input into development of business/strategic plans

- History of Leadership roles in Medical Group settings
