What You’ll Do:
- Review and verify criminal, civil, and other public records as part of rental applicant background screenings
- Research and resolve missing or unclear case details using internal systems and public databases
- Apply client criteria to determine eligibility while maintaining business and legislative compliance requirements
- Accurately document findings and respond to internal questions regarding pending searches, results, or screening guidelines
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, legal studies or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience in research, court records, investigations, or a related area involving criminal or civil court systems
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy
- Basic understanding of legal or court terminology
- Good research and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional and clear communication skills
- Commitment to handling confidential information appropriately
- Experience in a criminal court, police department, or probation department setting, including internships
- Knowledge of the criminal and civil court systems, criminal records, and landlord/tenant civil records
