As a Mechanic, you will play a key role in ensuring all landscape equipment, tools, and street-legal vehicles are operating at peak performance. Responsibilities
- Oversee all shop operations, ensuring efficient use of labor, materials, and time.
- Plan, direct, and organize the repair, maintenance, and inspection of landscape equipment (such as mowers, blowers, edgers, weed-eaters, and hedge trimmers), related tools, and street-legal vehicles.
- Troubleshoot and accurately diagnose mechanical issues on equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Develop and implement shop policies, procedures, and performance goals.
- Ensure compliance with all safety laws, policies, and practices for shop staff.
- Maintain service logs and records of preventative maintenance for all equipment.
- Review reports to ensure proper purchasing, delivery, and material processing.
- Attend weekly safety meetings and promote a culture of safety.
- Utilize computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, for record keeping and communication.
- Provide excellent service to vendors, work-site partners, and company staff.
Qualifications
- At least two (2) years of experience in mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of landscape equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods related to landscape equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards, shop and field safety procedures, and hazardous material handling.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage shop operations and maintenance schedules.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Class C driver’s license (must be maintained throughout employment).
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to safety and customer service.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus, but not required.
