Landscape Maintenance Crew Member / Driver

Position Summary

The primary role of the Landscape Maintenance Crew Member / Driver is to perform landscape maintenance tasks efficiently, safely, and consistently while supporting Yardnique’s commitment to high-quality standards and exceptional customer service.

Under the direction of a Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader, the Crew Member / Driver is responsible for performing assigned landscape maintenance duties, safely operating landscape equipment, and transporting crew members, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies to and from assigned job sites in a company vehicle.

Essential Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company vehicle to and from assigned job sites and other designated locations.
• Transport crew members, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies as required.
• Follow all company driving, safety, and vehicle-use policies.
• Perform assigned landscape maintenance tasks in accordance with production goals, customer service standards, and supervisory instructions.
• Safely operate landscape maintenance equipment, including mowers, edgers, trimmers, blowers, thatchers, overseeders, and other related equipment.
• Maintain turf areas, including mowing and edging, and ensure landscape beds and hardscapes are properly maintained.
• Prune shrubs and perform other plant care duties as directed.
• Report damaged trees, missing plants, property damage, irrigation concerns, or other issues to the supervisor promptly.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and safety checks on landscape equipment and company vehicles, as assigned.
• Accurately record hours worked and comply with company timekeeping procedures.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with crew members, supervisors, customers, and other company personnel.
• Follow all required PPE, safety, vehicle, and standards-of-conduct guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least one year of experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a related field.
• Ability to safely operate landscape maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, work instructions, and supervisory direction.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, courteous attitude.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, and operating equipment.

Driver Applicant Requirements:

Because this position requires operating a company vehicle, all applicants must meet the following driver requirements:

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of driving experience required.
• Clean and acceptable driving record required.
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle while transporting crew members, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.
• Must comply with all company driving, vehicle-use, safety, and traffic requirements.
• Must maintain an acceptable driving record as a condition of employment and continued authorization to operate a company vehicle.
