Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Termite and Pest Control Technician to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will inspect residential and commercial properties for pest and termite infestations, identify problems, and apply safe, effective treatments to eliminate and prevent unwanted pests, including termites, rodents, insects, and other vermin. You will deliver high-quality service while maintaining compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. This is a field-based position ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, problem-solving, and helping customers protect their homes and businesses.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform thorough inspections of buildings, structures, crawl spaces, attics, and surrounding grounds to detect signs of pest or termite activity, entry points, and damage.
• Identify pest species (including termites, ants, roaches, rodents, bed bugs, and others) and assess the severity of infestations.
• Determine and recommend appropriate treatment methods, including chemical applications, baits, traps, soil treatments, or structural repairs.
• Safely mix, apply, and handle pesticides, termiticides, and other control products according to label instructions, EPA guidelines, and state regulations.
• Set traps, baits, or use non-chemical methods as needed to control or eliminate pests.
• Educate customers on pest prevention, treatment plans, and follow-up maintenance; answer questions and provide excellent service.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, treatments, materials used, and customer interactions.
• Service assigned routes efficiently while responding promptly to new or emergency service requests.
• Keep company vehicles, equipment, and tools clean, organized, and in good working condition.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and attend required training sessions.
Requirements and Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required state pest control and termite applicator licenses/certifications (company may provide training and sponsorship).
• Previous experience in pest control, termite treatment, or a related field is preferred but not always required—willingness to learn is key.
• Physical fitness: ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, crawl in tight spaces (attics, crawlspaces), kneel, bend, and work in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and customer service orientation.
• Basic knowledge of safety practices and pesticide handling (training provided).
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Availability for occasional evenings or weekends based on customer needs.
Work Environment and Benefits
This is a full-time, field-based role that involves significant time outdoors and inside customer properties. You will wear protective gear and follow strict safety procedures due to the nature of pesticide use.
