What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain engine and powertrain specifications based on customer requirements
- Ensure applications meet YANMAR standards for emissions, installation instructions and technical guidelines
- Conduct field testing with data acquisition systems on production intent customer equipment
- Analyze test data and perform engineering calculations
- Recommend improvements for customer systems and support resolution of technical issues
- Manage multiple projects and keep detailed updates in Salesforce
- Create technical documentation for production and finished goods
- Assist Sales, Service and After-Sales teams through engineering analysis and product support
- Support design efforts with calculations, simulations and validation activities
- Partner with Testing teams on prototype builds, component fabrication and dynamometer testing
- Participate in trade shows and communicate with global engineering teams when needed
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, including co-ops or internships
- Mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to engines and powertrains
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to analyze test data and apply engineering principles
- Familiarity with CREO and Windchill is helpful
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30 percent
- Ability to work in both office and plant environments and lift up to 20 pounds as needed
