About the position:
The Plumbing Sales Technician is responsible for quoting, selling, and installing plumbing projects for customers. This position is commission-based.
This role requires a balance of technical expertise, sales ability, and customer service to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the employee is responsible for invoicing customers and collecting payments.
Responsibilities:
Sales & Quoting:
o Assess customer plumbing needs and provide accurate project quotes.
o Effectively communicate project details, pricing, and benefits to customers to secure sales.
o Follow up on leads and customer inquiries to generate sales opportunities.
Installation & Service:
o Perform plumbing installations and repairs according to industry standards and company guidelines.
o Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with Massachusetts plumbing codes.
o Troubleshoot plumbing issues and provide solutions to customers.
Administrative & Compliance Duties:
o Invoice customers promptly and ensure timely payment collection.
o Adhere to the material purchase policy when procuring plumbing materials.
o Clock in and out for each shift to track hours worked.
o Maintain required plumbing license and certifications as per Massachusetts state regulations.
Work Environment:
• Work is primarily performed at customer locations and job sites.
• Some administrative work may be required for quoting, invoicing, and payment collection.
Requirements:
• Must be a registered plumber in the state of Massachusetts.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a driving record deemed acceptable by company insurance carriers.
• Experience in plumbing installation, service, and sales preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to provide accurate project quotes and close sales.
• Proficiency in invoicing and payment collection.
• Ability to follow company policies, including the material purchase policy.
• Reliable transportation to job sites as required.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
• Comfortable working in various conditions, including confined spaces and outdoor environments.
• Ability to stand, kneel, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
