Cost Accountant

Job Summary:

Provide support and assistance to manufacturing sites in the following areas: monitoring the financial impact of production transactions, assist in development and implementation of standard costs, and analyzing and reconciling the general ledger to perpetual inventory balances.

Essential functions of the job:

• Develop costed BOM’s, and Labor & Overhead rates.
• Maintain inputs into SAP, BPC, HFM or the local ERP environment as required. 
• Prepare timely reporting and analysis of key financial information (KPI’s, STAT’s) for reporting unit.
• Maintain and distribute reporting records of operational expenses (including scrap, purchase burden) and inventories in a timely manner.
• Serve as reporting unit liaison with SSC AP and OT team to resolve plant AR, AR/AP invoice, payment issues
• Prepare selected account reconciliations with proper supporting documentation for Plant Controller review.
• Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions with partner sites ensuring no out of balance conditions in month end reporting.
• Support Plant Controller in month end closing activities.
• Support Plant Controller in forecast and budget development activities as needed.
• Monitor inventory adjustments relating to the cost accounting activity.
• Perform inventory valuations as required.
• Assist with budget development by generating cost sets in the ERP environment on an as needed basis.
• Attend global meeting as needed.
• Prepare ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
• Support plant SCM with physical inventories as needed.
• Roll standards into subsequent periods as required.
• Provide costing estimates to support new product quotes.
• Maintain cost tracking of Product Development/Engineering changes for internal cost & external pricing needs.

Required Education Level:

•  Bachelor's Level Degree
• Area of Study: Business Administration, Finance / Controlling (Accounting, Finance, Controlling, etc.) or similar.
• *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in cost accounting.
• Demonstrated capability for working with Financial Systems (ERPs, MS Office, especially Excel).
• Must be able and willing to work at manufacturing sites.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the automotive industry preferred
• Able to work in a rigorous and fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Internally motivated.

Language Required and Preferred

• Required:  English (Fluency with Reading, Writing, Speaking) 
• Preferred: Mandarin (Fluency with Reading, Writing, Speaking)
