Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Marine Service Technician to join our team in providing exceptional maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting services for marine vessels and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and fabrication work, with the ability to interpret schematics and utilize various hand and power tools. Duties
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on marine vessels and related equipment
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues
- Conduct electrical work including soldering, wiring, and troubleshooting using ohmmeters and multimeters
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques such as sheet metal work and rigging
- Assist with assembly, disassembly, and installation of marine components
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks related to marine transport equipment
- Perform heavy lifting and operate precision measuring instruments like calipers for accurate repairs
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality control procedures
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
Experience
- Proven service technician experience in marine or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques
- Experience working with schematics, heavy lifting, sheet metal fabrication, and vehicle maintenance
- Familiarity with military-grade equipment or experience in military service is a plus
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, calipers, ohmmeters, soldering irons, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients
- Prior experience in assembly or rigging is advantageous
- Background in mechanical or electrical trades such as mechanic experience or sheet metal work is highly desirable
