What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Associate 2nd and 3rd Shift position at YAMADA North America, Inc.?
Job Summary This position is responsible for the machining, processing, and assembly of Drive Shafts, Steering Columns, and Steering Pinion to be shipped to major automobile manufacturers for final assembly.
Essential Functions
- Sub-assembles components using hand tools and air-guns on a 17 second process.
- Sets parts in jig and use robotic assistance to affix components.
- Spot welds sub-assembled parts using robotic assistance.
- Performs quality checks during and after assembly to verify quality of parts.
- Follows all directions set forth in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Moving product from one process area to another using hand carts and dollies.
- Train other Associates on learned processes.
- Reset alarms and make minor CNC program adjustments.
Other Functions
- Performing periodic inventory counts.
- Sorting finished goods to ensure only quality parts are received by final customer.
- Interacts with co-workers and outside vendors
- Maintains clean working environment
- Continuously seeks to improve processes
- Promotes a safe working environment
- Communicates with other Associates and Shift Team Leaders regarding quality or production issues
Requirements
Education High school diploma or equivalency is preferred.
Experience Position requires minimal experience on assembly lines.
Skills Position requires understanding of basic quality tools, the ability to arrive to work consistently and on-time, the ability to read and understand directions, the ability to listen and follow instructions, and the abilty to work with a team.
Working Conditions Position requires the ability to bend, twist, reach, perform repetitive arm movements, lift upto 30 pounds, stand on concrete for extended periods of time, work mandatory overtime, and withstand temperatures of upto 100 degrees.
