As an X-ray Technician, you play a vital role in ensuring accurate radiologic diagnoses by operating complex imaging equipment and positioning patients correctly. Your responsibilities include updating patient information, managing clerical tasks related to radiologic exams, and adhering to safety protocols. - 1. IS/ RIS System: Update all patients' information.
- 2. Forms (History, Preg & Req): Complete all information needed for interpretation.
- 3. Equipment: Report all malfunctions to manager or Bio-Med.
- 4. Patient Positioning: Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and effects of disease processes to properly and safely position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield.
- 5. Patient Interviews: Interview patients and review available clinical data from charts to alert any party to possible contradictions for procedure.
- 6. Radiographic Equipment: Operate highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, operating suites, and at the patient's bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality images using the A.L.A.R.A. (As low as reasonably achievable) standard.
- 7. Clerical Duties: Perform various clerical duties, including verification of information and exams performed.
- 8. Safety Training: Attend all required safety training programs and describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
- EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an approved two-year program.
- EXPERIENCE: Requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience.
- LICENSURE: Must possess RI license.
