About the Role:
As a Surgical Technician with Yale-New Haven Health, you will be part of our team that strives to deliver exceptional patient care and safety. Your role will involve assisting with patient preparation, maintenance of a safe environment, and ensuring efficient department flow.
- Position patients safely and effectively.
- Participate in time-out procedures to ensure accurate identification and positioning of patients.
- Manage medications and prevent nosocomial infections.
- Implement measures to prevent patient injury from extraneous objects, medications, and chemical/physical/electrical hazards.
Responsibilities include preparing and organizing materials, maintaining equipment and supplies, and safely operating all equipment according to manufacturer specifications. You will also assist with room preparation, case breakdown, and turnover, while demonstrating clinical and technical skills according to established standards of practice.
To be successful in this role, you should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent, and be a Graduate of an approved school of Allied Health or Surgical Technology. Operating Room experience is preferred, and BLS certification is required. National Certification is also required within 18 months of hire.
Salary : $40,000 - $90,000
