General Summary

Project Managers (PMs) at Springfield Marble & Granite / Yalcin Inc. are responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and management of multi-unit residential construction projects, specializing in kitchen and vanity cabinetry and countertop systems. The PM oversees all operational aspects from show drawings and material orders to inventory control, fabrication scheduling, and on-site installation management — ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with design and contractual requirements.

The PM serves as the central point of contact between clients, general contractors, architects, field superintendents, subcontractors, installers, warehouse teams, and logistics personnel. Responsibilities also include coordinating project documentation, managing purchasing and shipping timelines, and supporting the estimating and accounting departments with accurate cost tracking and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Manager will work closely with many other professionals including related project managers on customers’ side, contractors, accountants, and operations personnel to provide the most accurate and comprehensive financial and budget analysis for the management. PM duties often include:

  • Work directly with customers to implement project goals.
  • Review the contracts upon winning the bids.
  • Oversee variable aspects of projects and provide direct assistance to ensure timely project execution.
  • Analyze project documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
  • Overview project goals and ensure project goals are achievable.
  • Liaise with Scheduling other project managers to maintain project schedule and efficacy.
  • Calculate and plan procuring materials and other items necessary for completing project goals.
  • Monitor and review project implementation and data on project execution.
  • Coordinate with assistant project managers and other project leads following project execution.
  • Follow and record day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Create material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service.
  • Review project blueprints and providing guidance for Assistant PMs.
  • Identify potential and actual issues and risks.
  • Coordinate the resources, people, deadlines, and real-world challenges required to bring projects in on-time, on target and on budget.
  • Establish good relationships with builders, contractors, and their field representatives.
  • Have full information about contract documents. Have full insight about the project timetable.
  • Prepare customer binders and customer files.
  • Monitor and review project related shop tickets for fabrication.
  • Know and track project related measurement package and dates.
  • Review project related bill of ladings for installations, warranty services or repair services.
  • Follow up with clients and monitor field progress with scheduled site travels.
  • Prepare the punch lists, punch requirements for closing.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures related to cabinet and countertop installations, composite site-cleaning and punch lists.
  • Collect cost data as required from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors and provide input for Estimation Office.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate preinstall requirements and resolve issues.
  • Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to change orders.
  • Review construction plans, finish schedules and specifications, and highlight the areas for countertops or tiles.
  • Monitor installation phase for countertops and cabinets, review, and assess the results and develop a new strategy for problematic areas, when necessary.
  • Track and report installer related errors and mistakes. Schedule meetings with installers to discuss problem areas and actions to be taken before and after the 1st Punch.
  • Conduct frequent scheduled site visits and inspections to monitor installation process, take notes and establish clear Punch Reports and OSHA reports, to be presented to management and client’s site managers and OSHA officials.
  • Track records of PPEs, and all equipment distributed to employees at the jobsite.
  • Analyze and review contracts’ administrative specifications, to determine the possible hurdles.
  • Track record actual costs for employee and subcontractor hours, transportation expenses and immediate material requirement costs.
  • Track and follow pre-punch and 1st punch phases, making sure that all installations are working without any defaults.
  • Coordinate with superintendent and customer PMs to determine the timetable and work force for remaining (2nd-3rd and final) punch jobs.
  • Discuss customer payments and pay calendar with customer superintendents for all post-punch periods and inform management about the payment dates.

PM skills and qualifications

  • A bachelor's or master’s degree in civil engineering or architecture is preferred.
  • Industry-specific certificates and licenses preferred.
  • 2 years of proven and successful experience in the construction industry.
  • Verifiable leadership experience and capabilities, with past successful project execution.
  • Skills and some experience in Countertop Industry are preferred.
  • Familiarity and experience in Cabinet and Vanity industry, is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of necessary industry-related tools.
  • Expert-level experience with Auto CAD or Solid software.
  • Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insight into project details.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring projects proceed efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in Engineering, Architecture or equivalent training and job experience.
  • DC, VA or MD residency.
  • Experience in Auto CAD, Solid and similar software.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Able to work with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings & specifications.
  • Experience in PM and takeoff roles in an engineering environment.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Good background in drafting and blueprint reading.
