Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role in Springfield, VA, for a Countertop Installer. The Countertop Installer will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and installing countertops with precision and attention to detail. Daily tasks include preparing installation sites, reading blueprints, handling tools/equipment, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. The role involves interacting with team members and clients to complete projects effectively and within deadlines.
Qualifications
- Experience with countertop installation, including measuring, cutting, and fitting materials accurately.
- Proficiency in the use of power tools, hand tools, and other equipment related to installation tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills for collaborating with crew members and addressing client needs.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in construction environments.
- Physical fitness to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.
- Prior experience in the construction or remodeling industry is a plus.

Installer Responsibilities
- Ensure that each job meets government regulatory and code requirements, builder requirements and contract specifications, and company quality standards and specifications.
- Verify the job ready conditions
- Loading/Unloading the material in accordance with the safety concerns
- Inform relevant project manager about non-conforming situation
- Obtain superintendent to get approval upon the completion of the job
- Perform the job as instructed
- Perform final inspection for each completed job
- Reports to Scheduling Manager
- Obtain the installation list from shop manager
- Be prepared with all tools, materials and paper works to perform the jobs
- Make sure all pieces loaded, secured and in good conditions
- Make sure all sinks are loaded
- Travel safely and as instructed
- Be punctual and inform scheduling manager for the unexpected situations
- Unload and deliver the materials safely
- Install tops as instructed
- Caulk and attach sinks
- Seal the tops
- Cover tops
- Clean job site before leaving
- Complete checklist
- Obey and follow instructions for installers
- Protect your health, avoid incidents that may cause hernia, spinal injuries.
Instructions to be followed by the Installer
1. Getting Ready for Jobs
a. Get your daily installation list from scheduling manager,
b. Get your BOLs from shop manager,
c. Check before you leave If you have adequate information on each job you assigned for,
d. Check your tools so that you are not missing anything you will need later to perform your job,
e. Leave from shop by 8 am at last.
2. Reaching at Job Site
a. Make sure that you reached the right unit/lot/house. Check your documents with the builder's notice board where posted on the construction's windows or doors for each unit,
b. Meet superintendent before starting your job,
c. Unload the pieces carefully from truck and load them into Dolly,
d. Check the Job Ready Conditions. In case of any inappropriateness, report to Scheduling Manager,
e. Do not start the job if the cabinets are not leveled or secured,
f. Note the time on the installation list when you start.
3. Placing Stones onto Cabinets
a. Measure the gaps for stove, range, refrigerator etc. and make sure you are leaving enough room for them. Max tolerance is ± inches,
b. Level the stone top by using scheme at the points it is necessary,
c. Make sure that overhangs are matching to the field measurement,
d. Open the notches where it is necessary,
e. Put backsplashes properly and caulk them with a matching color.
4. Making Seams
a. Stick the seam pieces together,
b. Start your work with one side so that your helper can work on the other side,
c. Use the razor to make sure that pieces are joined smoothly,
d. Akemi must be matching with the stone color,
e. If there is inconsistency between the thicknesses of the pieces report to Scheduling Manager,
f. Max gap tolerance is 1/8 inches at the seam location.
5. Caulking the Joint Lines
a. Use the matching color with wall, stone, and cabinets,
b. Make sure that no gap left on the top, bottom, and wall,
c. Clean the caulked lines and perform a quality job.
6. Drilling Faucet Holes
a. Drill faucet holes if not done already,
b. Be sure the exact location. Consult with costumer, superintendent, or project manager,
c. Keep always necessary drill bits with you,
d. Make sure that you have enough room to drill a secure hole.
7. Attaching the Sinks and Dishwasher Anchors
a. Attach and caulk the sinks and secure them,
b. Make sure that you aligned the sink and its lips don't expose,
c. Glue nuts and attach the dishwasher anchors.
8. Cleaning Tops and Work Environment
a. Clean the countertop, cabinets, and your work environment,
b. Do not leave any leftovers at job site.
9. Protecting the Completed Jobs
a. Seal the stone with your paper towel,
b. Take the digital pictures of every piece you installed,
c. Cover the stone after you have superintendent or homeowner signature.
10. Checking for Quality of Jobs
a. Double check your job and make sure that you produce the quality of job,
b. Fill out the Installation Check List,
c. Write "Done" on your BOL if you finished job. Write "not done" if you didn't complete the job and note the reason of not completion,
d. If you are taking any piece back to shop, label each of them with job name, date, and a brief explanation,
e. Get the super's signature,
f. Note the time on your installation list when you finish the job,
g. Call and report scheduling manager before you leave.
11. Returning to Shop
a. Return your installation list and memory cards to scheduling manager.
b. Return your BOLS to shop manager.
c. Have packaging crew unload the pieces you took back to shop and talk to shop manager about why you brought them back.
d. Give your tool boxing list to shop manager every week.
