About Yalaha Bakery
For more than 30 years, Yalaha Bakery has been bringing the traditions of German and European baking to Central Florida. Our award-winning bakery is known for handcrafted breads, pastries, and baked goods made with quality ingredients, time-honored techniques, and genuine care.
We are looking for an experienced artisan bread baker who takes pride in the craft and understands that great bread requires patience, precision, consistency, and teamwork. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated bakery team, contribute to products our customers have loved for generations, and continue growing your skills in a respected professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Mix, shape, proof, score, and bake traditional European artisan breads.
- Produce sourdough, rye, wheat, multigrain, and specialty German breads using starters, preferments, and long fermentation methods.
- Monitor dough temperature, hydration, fermentation, proofing, and baking conditions to achieve excellent results.
- Operate mixers, dividers, proofers, commercial ovens, and other bakery equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow recipes, production standards, and schedules while maintaining consistent quality, appearance, texture, and flavor.
- Bring care and attention to every stage of production, from ingredient preparation through finished product.
- Assist with croissants, Danish pastries, and other laminated doughs as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe production area.
- Communicate and collaborate with teammates to meet daily production goals.
- Handle ingredients responsibly, minimize waste, and help maintain an efficient, positive work environment.
- Contribute ideas and continue developing your technical skills as part of a growing bakery team.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of professional artisan bread baking experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of sourdough fermentation and traditional bread-making techniques.
- Experience working in a commercial or wholesale bakery.
- Ability to independently produce multiple bread varieties from mixing through baking.
- Experience with European or German bread production strongly preferred.
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining consistent quality.
- Availability for early morning or overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and team-oriented.
- A genuine interest in traditional baking and pride in producing excellent food.
This is a hands-on production position for an experienced baker, not an entry-level training opportunity.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to work in an established, award-winning German artisan bakery with more than three decades of history.
- A welcoming, collaborative team that values craftsmanship, reliability, and respect.
- A professional environment centered on traditional European breads and pastries.
- Competitive compensation based on experience.
- Full-time employment with opportunities to expand your skills and grow within the bakery.
- The chance to help preserve time-honored baking traditions while contributing to the future of Yalaha Bakery.
