Yakima Valley Libraries is seeking a skilled and innovative IT professional to help keep our technology systems secure, reliable, and running smoothly. In this role, you will configure and maintain servers, networks, backups, and enterprise systems; troubleshoot technical issues; support the Integrated Library System (ILS); provide end-user training and technical assistance; and collaborate with staff to ensure reliable technology services that support the Library's mission and strategic priorities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. However, they are not to be construed as exclusive or all–inclusive. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other duties may also be required or assigned.
- Helpdesk Support: Responds to staff requests for assistance with IT equipment and maintains helpdesk records.
- Server and Network Management: Monitors, operates, installs, configures, maintains, and secures server and network hardware, software, and related equipment.
- Integrated Library System (ILS) Management: Coordinates and maintains the library’s ILS, including running routines, performing resets, and creating reports.
- Web Development: Creates and maintains internal and external websites and web applications using programming and scripting languages.
- Staff Training: Assists staff in using computer hardware, software, and other library equipment.
- Procedure Documentation: Documents and maintains procedures and updates related documentation.
- Backup and Network Storage Management: Ensures backups and network storage are maintained.
- Strategic Contribution: Participates in developing and communicating the library’s strategic priorities.
- Performs additional duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- Two years of experience supporting IT software, equipment, networks, and backups.
- Two years of ILS and computer support experience in a networked environment.
- Equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience may be substituted.

- Washington driver's license
REQUIRED JOB COMPETENCIES
- Network and Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, network storage, backup, and file services.
- Server Management: Experience with UNIX/Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems in a networked environment.
- Web Development: Knowledge of programming and scripting languages for web development.
- Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide excellent service in resolving technical challenges.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with network installation, maintenance, and support, including firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage projects, and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with staff and external contacts.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve network and systems-related issues efficiently.
- Attendance and Dependability: Consistently attend work and perform duties reliably.

Compensation and Benefits
