Position Summary:
Performs and supervises all compliance and compliance-related activities (including inspections and complaint investigations), manages educational public service announcements; administers the solid fuel burning device replacement program (including state grants); manages and maintains air quality monitoring equipment; and manages and operates the EPA Method 9 opacity certification program. Occasionally assists staff with permitting. Regularly interacts with compliance, permitting, and other staff. This is a key position supporting the mission of the Agency and is both a supervisory working position.
Key Duties:
- Supervise air quality specialists conducting complaint investigations and facility inspections.
- Draft and/or review notices of non-compliance, violation, and penalty.
- Manage opacity certification program and conduct certification testing.
- Conduct periodic internal audits of compliance actions to ensure accuracy/completeness.
- Manage solid fuel burning device replacement program including vendor/installer relations, payment approvals, and related functions.

- Conduct or arrange testing equipment maintenance and repair work.
- Manage, prioritize, schedule, and conduct facility inspections and complaint investigations.
- Recommend methods, procedures, and/or policies to improve investigations and inspections.
- Support and assist permitting staff as needed to ensure permits are effective and can be implemented by compliance staff.
- Manage regular inspections of major (aka Title V) sources in accordance with EPA requirements.
- Ensure agency vehicles are properly maintained and repaired as needed.

Pay: $62,088.00 - $85,176.00 per year
