Basic Function
Provide service to bank customers by conducting appropriate transactions and meeting the needs of customers by referring them to appropriate departments in the bank.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES: **
- Assist customers with everyday transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments accurately and efficiently, while complying with all policies, procedures, regulatory and banking requirements
- Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements
- Identify fraudulent activity to prevent potential losses to the bank
- Accurately follow all cash handling procedures and balance cash drawer daily
- Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded
- Answer a variety of basic customer inquiries and maintain a working knowledge of bank products and services
- Identify and promote Yakima Federal products and services beneficial to the customers' needs
- Stay current of compliance regulatory issues, through ongoing training, as they pertain to duties
- Demonstrate support of corporate values, mission and vision. Perform job duties within these standards
- Display mutual respect, trust and dignity, acting in the best interest of the Association. Display solid ethics and integrity at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to three years of customer service experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Proven customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate courteously and professionally
- Basic knowledge of applicable bank policies, procedures and support systems
- Knowledge of common deposit products and service
- Strong mathematical, problem-solving and computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well under pressure
- High degree of accuracy
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work as a team member
- Experience in the financial services industry preferred
