Assembly Technician
YakAttack is a leading manufacturer of innovative kayak fishing gear based in Farmville, VA. Our Assembly Technicians build components and finished products using a variety of tools and fixtures. Watch the video on our company page to see our team, our facility, and all open roles.
What You’ll Do:
- Assemble components and finished products using hand tools, battery-powered drills, drill presses, heat guns, saws/cutting tools, pneumatic fixtures, and basic measurement tools.
- Follow established assembly procedures and work instructions.
- Perform visual quality checks and ensure products meet YakAttack standards.
- Participate in random quality checks and maintain accountability for work through traceability.
- Rotate between assembly stations based on workflow, demand, and inventory availability.
- Maintain clean, organized workstations and follow all safety procedures.
- Communicate defects, shortages, or equipment issues to the Assembly Supervisor.
- Assist Shipping during high-volume periods when needed.
- Work additional hours during peak demand, including some Saturdays, based on business needs.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Full-time, weekday manufacturing schedule.
- Additional hours may be scheduled during peak demand, including some Saturdays.
- Manufacturing environment with frequent standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motions.
- Rotating stations based on workflow and inventory.
- Located at YakAttack headquarters in Farmville, VA.

Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.

- Reliable work habits and ability to follow procedures.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, cutting tools, and pneumatic fixtures.
- Basic measurement skills (tape measure, calipers, gauges).
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Experience in assembly, manufacturing, or production preferred.
