The DON oversees all nursing operations to ensure compliance, quality care, and effective team leadership.
- Plan, direct, and supervise nursing staff and daily clinical operations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Develop, implement, and update nursing policies and procedures
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet resident needs and regulatory standards
- Participate in annual Federal, State, and Local surveys
- Review and address deficiencies identified during inspections
- Manage the Nursing Department within budget guidelines
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide coaching and education
- Administer counseling and disciplinary actions when necessary
- Oversee staff training and ongoing education
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols
- Report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, and supply needs
- Promote resident dignity, comfort, and privacy
- Respond promptly and courteously to call lights
- Assist with admissions, re‑admissions, and room transfers
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff

Required:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Previous Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience
