- Wednesday-Sunday 4:00pm --Midnight
- Monday & Tuesday OFF

About the Position:
This is primarily a janitorial/custodian position in a non-profit 222-unit independent senior apartment community. If you take pride in keeping a building spotless, enjoy working independently, and can stay calm under pressure, this could be an excellent fit.
Most of your shift will be spent cleaning and maintaining the building, but because you are the evening staff member on duty, you will also respond to unexpected situations that arise. Every night is a little different.
Primary Duties:
- Clean public restrooms, kitchens, hallways, offices, and common areas
- Vacuum and extract carpets as needed
- Empty trash and recycling throughout the building
- Maintain garbage and recycling rooms
- Keep entrances, sidewalks, and grounds clean and safe
- Set up and tear down for resident activities
- Secure the building each evening
- Perform routine building inspections
- Assist with snow and ice removal when needed
- Complete light maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate logs and communicate important issues to management
Emergency Response Responsibilities:
While this is not an EMT or security position, you must be comfortable responding appropriately when unexpected situations occur, including-
- Elevator malfunctions
- Fire alarms
- Medical emergencies (calling 911, assisting within training, directing emergency responders)
- Water leaks or flooding
- Building security concerns
- Resident safety concerns
Training is provided, but you must be someone who stays calm, thinks clearly, and follows established procedures.

Wednesday evenings have additional staff in the building. Most other evening shifts are worked independently.
This is probably NOT the job for you if:
- You dislike cleaning.
- You need constant supervision.
- You panic when unexpected situations happen.
- Reliability and punctuality are difficult for you.
