What You'll Do
The UPF Technical Support Specialist will manage and coordinate critical maintenance activities, ensuring optimal scheduling and efficient resource allocation. This role is pivotal in orchestrating the smooth coordination of the various organizations required to accomplish work.
This position will:
- Report to the Work Control Manager in UPF Asset Management.
- Be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, status reporting, and escalation of maintenance priority and scheduled work activities.
- Interface with support groups, customers and all resources critical to completing maintenance activities for Production, Projects, BOP, Security, and Emergency services, to address equipment/system upgrades, breakdowns, and work week schedules.
- Interface with Senior Leadership, as necessary, to accomplish safe, efficient, and compliant execution of maintenance activities with an end goal of increasing operational availability of production assets, systems, and facilities.
- Assist in development of priorities based on guidance from System Health, Production, Projects and BOP managers.
- Report regularly upon maintenance planning and execution barriers encountered and will be responsible for developing/managing resolutions to overcome those barriers.
- Be responsible for the field coordination and management of issues to ensure completion of maintenance work execution, which includes projects; provide leadership to accomplish these goals.
- Be accountable for the creation of daily work execution schedules including establishing start times with all required organizations and will provide expeditious resolution to any schedule breaks.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- OR Master's degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- OR PhD.
- Ten (10) or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Basic Microsoft Office package, including Excel.
- Requires management skills to include technical oversight, effective planning and organizing, communication, interpersonal, fiscal responsibility, and schedule compliance.
- Work experience with DOE and/or NNSA Orders and practices.
- Preferred degrees are Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical or Industrial), Engineering Technology or other technical related degrees.
- Preferred experience includes competence with:
- Industrial equipment maintenance, repair and rebuild.
- Reliability based maintenance including condition-based monitoring and failure analysis.
