Assistant Manager Production Control

Description

Summary/ Objective:

The position provides leadership and technical support to the Production Control team.

Essential Functions (but are not limited to):

• Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PE
• Plan and manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders.
• Assist in minimizing interruptions to production schedules through effective parts and materials procurement practices.
• Manage plant work schedules to recover from unplanned production down time.
• Assist in the management of inventory levels including establishing goals, rotating stock, managing purchase and supply base, and developing methods and procedures.
• Ability to train staff on use of Plex.
• Maintain effective communication with various groups such as customers, business development, etc., to ensure on-time delivery of products and team support.
• Assist in the training of the Order and Logistics team as required to enhance the team’s performance skills presently and in the future.
• Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company’s goals and objectives.
• Regular attendance is required.

Must be flexible to work in all areas and in your department regardless of duties listed above in order to accomplish YKTA Goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or related area or equivalent experience. 
• Previous supervisory experience.
• 5 years minimum Production Control experience in the automotive industry with a demonstrated track-record of success is preferred.
• Experience with ERP software, experience with Plex is preferred.
• Proficient personal computer and system software skills.
• Attention to detail, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and adapt to changes in priorities and direction

Environment:

• Work is conducted in an industrial office/ plant setting.
• Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ and Ecoat environments.
