Strategic Business Development & Advisory Consultant — 1099
Location: Glendale, CA / Flexible

Estimated Annual Earnings: $70,000–$250,000

Build With the Firm. Originate Opportunities. Participate in the Value You Help Create.
We are seeking sophisticated, entrepreneurial business professionals to originate and develop meaningful opportunities within an established consulting and advisory platform.
This opportunity is designed for professionals capable of developing relationships with business owners, executives, investors, developers, entrepreneurs, and other decision-makers and identifying situations where the Firm can create meaningful value.
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity. It is NOT a salaried or hourly position, and there is no guaranteed compensation.
Our model is straightforward:
You identify relationships and originate qualified opportunities.
The Firm evaluates those opportunities and determines which engagements it will accept.
The Firm provides the platform, professional resources, structuring, contracting, and execution capabilities for accepted engagements.
You participate economically in qualifying revenue generated from the opportunities you originate.
This is an opportunity to build with the Firm, not establish a separate competing consulting platform or personally owned book of Firm clients.
What the Firm Does
Our Firm works with businesses, owners, executives, investors, developers, and commercial organizations across areas that may include:
- Business advisory and growth strategy
- Strategic consulting
- Capital structuring and lending solutions
- Transaction advisory
- Recurring business consulting
- Commercial and real estate-related advisory
- Strategic and operational initiatives
- Specialized opportunities across multiple industries
Our objective is to develop long-term institutional relationships rather than simply complete one-time transactions.
A successful relationship may develop into:
Advisory → Recurring Consulting → Capital Opportunities → Transactions → Additional Assignments
Your Role
Your primary responsibility is business origination and relationship development.
Activities may include:
- Identifying qualified business opportunities
- Developing relationships with business owners and executives
- Connecting with investors, developers, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers
- Developing professional referral relationships
- Identifying strategic, financial, operational, capital, or transactional needs
- Introducing qualified opportunities to the Firm
- Participating in prospective client discussions
- Facilitating introductions to appropriate Firm professionals
- Maintaining professional follow-up
- Identifying additional opportunities that may benefit the Firm and its clients
We want real, actionable opportunities with identifiable business needs and decision-makers — not simply prospect lists or theoretical leads.
You are not expected to personally perform every component of an engagement.
Your primary contribution is:
Relationships Opportunity Recognition Origination Professional Follow-Through
Independent Origination / Firm Execution
Our model separates independent business origination from the Firm's management and execution of its professional services.
Independent Origination
Consultants generally determine their own:
- Prospecting strategies
- Networking activities
- Relationship-development methods
- Sourcing channels
- Business-development techniques
- Day-to-day origination activities
- Business-development schedule
- Work location
The Firm does not prescribe fixed daily prospecting schedules, minimum calling requirements, or specific prospecting hours.
Consultants are primarily evaluated on the quality and economic results of opportunities they originate.
Firm Evaluation & Execution
The Firm independently determines whether an introduced opportunity will be accepted.
For accepted engagements, the Firm manages its:
- Client acceptance
- Services
- Engagement scope
- Pricing
- Contracts
- Billing and collections
- Compliance
- Professional deliverables
- Transaction and engagement structure
- Internal execution
- Client relationship management
Consultants may not independently bind the Firm, establish Firm pricing, execute agreements on behalf of the Firm, or make unauthorized representations.
One Firm Platform
We want professionals who are interested in building with the Firm, not using the Firm's resources to establish a competing consulting operation.
Our model is:
Origination → Firm Evaluation → Firm Engagement → Execution → Revenue → Revenue Participation
Opportunities introduced to and accepted by the Firm are developed through the Firm's platform.
Firm Client Relationships
Clients and engagements accepted by the Firm become and remain Firm relationships.
The Firm maintains its client contracts, records, billing relationships, engagement documentation, client data, service delivery, work product, and ongoing relationship infrastructure.
Revenue participation compensates the originating consultant for qualifying business according to the applicable compensation arrangement.
Revenue participation does not create personal ownership of a Firm client or a portable book of Firm business.
Our objective is alignment:
Create Valuable Opportunities → Grow Firm Relationships → Generate Revenue → Participate in the Value Created
Confidentiality & Protection of the Firm
Consultants may receive access to confidential and proprietary information, including:
- Client information
- Business methods and processes
- Pricing information
- Engagement structures
- Transaction information
- Strategic plans
- Proprietary methodologies
- Analytical materials
- Internal systems
- Firm intellectual property
- Trade secrets
Firm confidential information, intellectual property, proprietary methodologies, client information, and resources may be used only for authorized Firm purposes.
They may not be copied, misappropriated, disclosed, or used to establish, support, or benefit an outside competing enterprise.
Compensation
THIS IS A COMMISSION-ONLY / REVENUE-PARTICIPATION 1099 OPPORTUNITY.
There is:
- No guaranteed salary
- No guaranteed hourly wage
- No guaranteed draw
- No guaranteed minimum income
- No predetermined earnings cap
If you do not originate qualifying business that generates revenue, you should expect no compensation from this opportunity.
Compensation may include:
- Revenue participation on originated engagements
- Participation in qualifying recurring consulting revenue
- Transaction-based compensation
- Quarterly performance bonuses
- Annual performance bonuses
- Additional performance-based opportunities
Revenue participation may often align around approximately 50% of qualifying generated revenue, although actual compensation varies by engagement, transaction, contribution, and applicable compensation arrangement.
Estimated Annual Earnings
$70,000–$250,000
This represents estimated potential earnings and is not a guaranteed salary or minimum compensation commitment.
Actual earnings depend upon production, successful conversion of opportunities into Firm engagements, revenue generated, and revenue received by the Firm.
High-performing consultants may have the ability to exceed this range.
Compensation Timing
Consulting and transactional engagements may require meaningful development, execution, billing, and collection periods.
Compensation is generally tied to qualifying revenue received by the Firm.
The typical compensation cycle is approximately 60 days, although timing may be shorter or longer depending upon the engagement, transaction, billing cycle, closing process, and client payment.
Candidates should be financially comfortable with a commission-only structure and the payment cycles associated with sophisticated B2B engagements.
Glendale Executive Office

- Access to Firm professionals
- Analytical and transaction resources
- Professional facilities for executive and client meetings

The four-day threshold relates to eligibility for the Firm's regular paid-parking arrangement and does not establish a mandatory office-attendance schedule.
Use of the Glendale office is encouraged for consultants who value in-person collaboration, client meetings, opportunity discussions, transaction reviews, and access to Firm resources.
Consultants generally retain flexibility regarding their day-to-day business-development schedule and work location.

We want professionals who can sit across the table from a:

Build With the Firm
We are looking for professionals interested in developing a substantial long-term economic relationship with the Firm.

A successful relationship may ultimately generate recurring consulting revenue, financing opportunities, transactions, referrals, and additional assignments.
When you create meaningful value for the Firm, you have the opportunity to participate meaningfully in the economic value created.
