JOB REQUIREMENTS
The Classroom Assistant/1:1 shall:
1. Possess 60 college credits from an accredited post-secondary institution
2. OR hold Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited post-secondary institution
3. Demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills and the ability to motivate and instruct students.
4. Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
5. Showcase expertise and experience in using 21st Century based/Web 2.0 technology tools and protocols.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Classroom Assistant/1:1 at Y.A.L.E. School assumes the professional responsibility for providing supervision of assigned student in a safe, supportive and positive classroom climate that develops in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed the NJ Department of Education’s Student Learning Standards, following the approved curricula and directives of the school. Achieving academic excellence requires that the Classroom Assistant/1:1 work collaboratively with other members of the school staff and with parents.
In addition, the Classroom Assistant will strive to meet the needs of diverse learners through classroom environment, leadership, and professionalism.
