Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Field Service Technician role based in Green Bay, WI. The Field Service Technician will install, start up, troubleshoot, and maintain water and wastewater equipment at customer locations, ensuring reliable and safe operation. Responsibilities include performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and completing repairs or adjustments in the field. The role involves reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics, as well as documenting service activities, parts usage, and recommendations in service reports. The technician will interact directly with customers to explain work performed, provide basic operator training, and offer guidance on equipment care and performance optimization. The position may require travel within the region, adherence to strict safety protocols, and occasional on-call or emergency service support.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with experience troubleshooting pumps, motors, controls, or related industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, manuals, and service documentation.
- Solid problem-solving skills with the capacity to diagnose issues independently and recommend effective solutions.
- Effective customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Comfort working in field environments, including outdoor, industrial, and confined spaces, while following all safety and PPE requirements.
- Basic computer skills for email, service reporting, and use of mobile service or diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally or regionally as required for field assignments.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate or associate degree in a mechanical, electrical, or industrial field is preferred.
- Prior field service, maintenance, or industrial equipment experience is strongly preferred, especially in water or wastewater applications.
- Ability to lift and handle equipment and tools in accordance with job and safety requirements.
